WHo cares about the Golden Globe Awards anyhow? I doubt anyone will notice or miss the (non)-event. For the past several years, the GG Awards have just been a bunch of insiders congratulating each other for putting out:
1) Letfitst political tripe;
2) Pro-homosexual propaganda;
3) Other boring stuff that the paying public ignored in droves.
There are plenty of sports & live entertainment programs on TV these days, none of which require WGA input, and most of which is (to be honest) more interesting and more entertaining.
And if people want to turn off TV, there's enough free programming and other content available on the Internet, that traditional TV has become un-necessary due to its dullness. Former FCC Chairman Newton Minnow's observation that TV was "a vast wasteland" has been proved correct. The GG Awards are part of the waste that clutters the landscape.
This whole WGA strike has demonstrated that union & guild "writers" have become an expensive and irrelevant form of overhead in most media.
