David Hernandez Will Stay on American Idol, Despite Stripping Past!

David Hernandez was extremely worried when news that he had formerly worked as a male stripper hit media airwaves yesterday.

Not only was David's spot on American Idol in jeopardy but his reputation above and beyond the show was beginning to be compromised. Fortunately, Idol's executive producer Ken Warwick was very understanding of David's past as an exotic dancer and has secured his spot on Idol - at least for this week.

"The truth is we're never judgmental about what people do to earn a living," says Warwick. "They've gotta put food in people's mouths."

But "never" may not have been the correct word to use in that statement because Warwick's following statement revealed precisely what it might take to get the boot from the show.

"If it were some sort of heavy porn, then maybe we'd have to take action," the Idol exec added. "But certainly not on this."

And while American Idol producers have not let Hernandez's past as a stripper affect his position on the show, the results are ultimately up to the fans. If fans find David's past the slightest bit disturbing, his future on the show will be compromised.

Should be interesting to see how long David will last.
