David Hernandez Speaks Out About American Idol Elimination

Hernandez spoke exclusively with Ryan Seacrest this morning, just hours after the news that his American Idol experience is over.

David Hernandez: Photo Credit: FOXThe 22-year-old former stripper told Seacrest that he was shocked when his name was announced during the elimination last night.

"I was kind of shocked," David reveals. "I really didn't think I was going home."

And when asked by the American Idol host how difficult it was for him to stay focused on the competition with all the negative publicity from his former job circulating the media, Hernandez jokingly claimed he had no idea what Ryan was talking about.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," says David, admitting later that "there were moments when it really hurt."

But will David return to his former job as a male stripper? I wouldn't bet on it.

"I'm gonna go home and shop a record deal," says the former contestant. "I am currently unemployed."
