Oscar Fashion – Worst Dressed on the Red Carpet!

While there were many stunning gowns on the red carpet of last night's Oscar Awards, there were many hideous dresses as well.

Some leading ladies need to fire their stylists and take a good long look in the mirror before they step onto the red carpet looking like they got dressed while they were blindfolded and intoxicated.

With all the money in the world, you'd think these stars could look a little more stylish while attending the most prestigious event of the year.

Here are the three women who topped our list of worst-dressed at last night's Oscars:

Diablo Cody/2008 Oscars: Photo Credit: Nikki Nelson/ WENN1. Diablo Cody - While she had one of the most memorable speeches from last night's event (she won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Juno), her outfit was something I'd like to forget. Even worse than Kelly Preston's leopard-print dress from last year's Oscars, this floor-length diamond-encrusted gown earned her another award - eGossip's award for worst-dressed last night. Sorry Diablo, better luck next year.

Helen Mirren/2008 Oscars: Photo Credit: Nikki Nelson/ WENN2. Helen Mirren - At 62, she probably has one of the most toned figures and yet Helen Mirren did her best to cover up her assets last night. A gorgeous gown was ruined by the eye-catching white sleeves, which not only hid her body but made her actually look older than she really is. We admire her work - but we can't say the say for her fashion sense.

Renee Zellweger/2008 Oscars: Photo Credit: Nikki Nelson/ WENN3. Renee Zellweger - Renee Zellweger always managers to look like a mess on the red carpet. This year, her hair looked like she forgot to brush it when she woke up in the morning - let alone get it styled by a professional. That, combined with her wash-out grayish-colored dress and hooker-like shoes, landed her the final position on our list of worst-dressed at the Academy Awards.

Do you agree with our choices for worst-dressed last night - or is there someone else you'd like to see added?

Now that you've seen our list of worst-dressed, why not check out who topped our list of best-dressed on the red carpet!

Please add the "Mermaid" dress What a hideous piece of wasted material. Somewhere there is a school play missing it's costume.

i like helen mirren,s dress. i think that it is very classy and elegant. I think that it works for her age. She looks beautiful...and red is totally her color.

Helen Mirren's was fabulous! It was absolutely age-appropriate and looked stunning on her. I think it was one of the BEST dresses of the evening. My question is - why is Tilda not on your list?

I also liked Helen Mirran's dress. Heaven forbid we cover ANYTHING up anymore. She was tasteful and beautiful -- a true role model. On the other hand, Diablo Cody could have done with some sleeves! I agree her dress was hideous, but worse was the fact that I was so distracted by her huge tattoo, I didn't hear a word of her speech, which is a shame. No problem with tattoos (have a big one myself), but it totally upstaged her. You missed the most hideous dress on the red carpet, worn by Daniel Day Lewis's date (wife?). That black tinkertoy thing on the front needed to be ripped off -- and it clashed with the red bow straps.

I also liked Helen Mirren's gown. The sleeves were a delicate accent just as a piece of jewelry. She looked gorgeous, sophisticated, breathtaking and just as beautiful, in red, than any of the younger actresses on the red carpet. Come on you must be joking...but from seeing your best dressed list you have to be. Please switch Helen on the right list.
