New rumors have surfaced that Jessica Simpson's former boy toy John Mayer and former talk-show host Ricki Lake are Hollywood's newest item. Say what?

According to an eyewitness, Mayer, 30, confessed that he had a crush on Lake for two years. The pair then chatted at their table for quite some time before Ricki took off for another bar.

Maybe she's playing hard to get?

Lucky for her, it seems Mayer is up for the challenge.

After Ricki left to go to the Rose Bar, Mayer couldn't get the 39-year-old beauty out of his head and reportedly spent the rest of the night texting her.
