Miley Cyrus Defends Hannah Montana Body Double!

Miley Cyrus has been under an extreme amount of scrutiny over the past few months and is ready to defend her actions to the media.

About the same time everyone stopped talking about the "racy" photos of Miley and one of her girlfriends sharing a piece of licorice, everyone started questioning the authenticity of Miley's performances in front of a live crowd.

Miley Cyrus: Photo Credit: WENNVideo of Miley Cyrus using a body double surfaced on the Internet last week had fans in a rage, claiming that the 15-year-old star was a fake.

What fans didn't realize is that, when Miley is playing both herself and Hannah Montana, a body double is critical when transitioning from one character to another.

Miley's rep defended the teen sensation's actions to E! News with the following message:

"To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of 'We Got the Party' incorporating a body double for Miley."

According to Miley's rep, the body double is only on stage for a minute or two during her song with the Jonas Brothers.

The specific reason for the double?

"To allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set," her rep explains.

This is not a big deal, people!!! It's for like a minute at the end of the song so Miley can change out of her costume. So what??? It's show-biz, this kind of stuff happens all the time!

so what? its like in a band, when a guitarist or drummer isnt there they have a stand in one. miley isnt on stage for 2 minutes. would people rather have 2 minutes of no miley than an entire set of no miley, cos without the body double there would possibly no miley set.

Not a big deal at all. I don't see why it bothers anyone, it's for a couple of minutes at most and it helps keep the show going. I have no problem with it at all and she shouldn't have to defend what she does.

Yeah okay I don't understand why so many people are freaking out. The double is out for what? Like one minute at the most. That doesn't mean Miley is a fake. If she was then she wouldn't be on the stage at all. People who keep writing these stories about Miley being a fake really need to get a live and stop obsessing over someone elses.

What are u people talkin about this is a HUGE deal!! come on now people pay thousandzz of dollars 2 see hannah montana and they dont c her the whole time. I mean come on we want what we payed 4. Miley shouldnt have dont that and everyone knows that. Also how come she couldnt have just taken a break. I mean come on even if it was for 2 minutes she could at least told the public.. And i bet she probably did this for all her concerts and did it so fast nobody caught her. I personal am a fan of hannah montana but this is just horrible and she didnt even apologize.

she has no reasons to apoligize. Yes fans are a bit shocked...but what is the difference in having a stunt double in a movie as well. People pay good money to see their favorite movie stars in an action film....and they are not even doing the ACTION part! Got over it people!

whats the big deal so she needs 2 mins 2 get changed she aint magic she has to have a double, the kids and fans don't care ! Its just the critics and media who want to make news about miley because she never puts a foot wrong as she is grounded. so leave her alone please, like those sleepover pix, heaps of teenagers do that kindof thing n hav fun but bcus miley is so huge now its a big deal if she does it, now Miles has to deal with it all as does her friend in the pix hu was a normal girl, imagine when she goes back to school. What is the difference of her doing what she needs to do for a speedy change for a live concert and stunt doubles in a movie? People pay really good money to see movies and their favorite stars in them. In action films the 'stars' don't even perform al their ACTION. They are called stunt doubles. Give it up people! The only reson she is being criticized is because of all the hype over her and peole are mad becasue tickets are hard to find.....so now they have to find something about her to complain about.......MILEY, keep doing what you are doing.
