Michelle Williams, Jake Gyllenhaal to Raise Heath Ledger’s Daughter?

Heath Ledger's former fiancée Michelle Williams and his good friend Jake Gyllenhaal have been taking the news of their friend's death harder than most. Both Jake and Michelle have taken temporary leaves from filming their current movies and friends and family are concerned about the level of hurt the two young Hollywooders are dealing with.

But, throughout the grieving process, one thing is certain: Jake and Michelle's first priority will always be Heath and Michelle's 2-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose.

Jake was not only one of Heath's closest friends but is also the godfather of Heath and Michelle's baby girl. Sources says that Gyllenhaal, who is currently dating actress Reese Witherspoon, will do everything he can to help Michelle and Matilda during this time and will likely act as a father figure to the little girl as she grows up.

When it comes to Hollywood celebrities, Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the most respectful and genuine people. There's no doubt in anyone's mind that this is extremely difficult for the 27-year-old actor but his dedication to Matilda, Michelle and the entire Ledger family remains his top priority.

Neither Michelle nor Jake have released formal statements in regards to Heath's death (which can be expected at this point in time) but Michelle's rep released a statement on her behalf, indicating that the tabloid rumors surrounding Heath's drug problems are false.

Michelle and Jake will continue to help Matilda as they themselves grieve the loss of their very good friend.

Michelle is a great mom and Jake is a great godfather. We're sure Matilda is going to be just fine.
