Kevin Federline’s Lawyer: Kevin Can’t Replace Britney Spears

It's been a rocky road for Kevin Federline and Britney Spears, but the sole parent (indefinitely) of Sean Preston and Jayden James says he's going to do his best to minimize the hardship on his children.

Kevin has been put in a tough situation these past few months but has really stepped up to the plate when it comes to being a father.

Not only is his ex-wife acting like a lunatic but he's been solely responsible for the care of their two children as well as partially responsible for his other two children with ex-fiancé Shar Jackson.

And while most have dubbed the judge's ruling on Monday as a victory, Kevin feels there is no winner in the situation.

His lawyer told PEOPLE the following:

"Kevin's not indifferent to how difficult it has to be on their mother (Spears) and on the kids. It's a sad situation. There's no victorious feeling."  

And as for Kevin's hope for the future, Kaplan addressed those issues with this message:

"Kevin wants nothing more than to be able to parent his children with participation by their mother. But the best interest of the children require that they be in the most sound, safe, nurturing and consistent environment. That is paramount.

"[Kevin] is committed to trying to fill any void by him being there at all times for them in any way. He can't replace their mother in their life but he is going to try to minimize the hardship."

He's right, Kevin can't replace Britney. But right now, any alternative is better than leaving the chaotic pop tart alone with her children.

Good thing those boys have one sane parent.
