Jessica Simpson’s Fashion Career Continues to Soar!

The 27-year-old singer has already designed full lines of clothing, footwear, swimwear and fragrances and has made yet another breakthrough this year.

Stride Rite announced yesterday that they've entered into a deal with Simpson to become the exclusive manufacturers and distributors of the girls shoes she's designed.

"Jessica Simpson's lifestyle brand right now is growing very, very rapidly, and (it) is encompassing everything from swimwear to outerwear to fragrance," Pam Salkovitz, president of Stride Rite Children's Group , said in a press release.

"The shoe line for adults came out about a year ago, and the shoes are doing fabulously in premium distribution."

And if you thought Jessica's ditzy persona would discourage Stride Rite from accepting the deal, think again.

"Her reputation as America's sweetheart has continued to grow," Salkovitz said.

"Since she's been divorced, she has taken on this whole new momentum. The popular vote is that she is extremely likeable and, most importantly for what we're doing, she is really looked upon as a style icon."
