Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey Reunion?

The former Hollywood power couple's divorce has been finalized for over a year now but fans of the dynamic duo (myself included) remain optimistic of a reunion.

While watching four seasons of the hit reality show Newlyweds, viewers learned just how well Jessica's bubbly personality complemented Nick's tough exterior.

But, as most of you already know, Hollywood had taken its toll on the couple and Nick and Jess announced their separation on Wednesday, November 23, 2005, after three years of marriage.

Hoping for a Reunion...

In April of 2006, almost six months after they announced their separation, Nick opened up to Rolling Stone's Allison Glock in what has been dubbed as Nick's most candid interview ever. It was clear at the time that Nick still had strong feelings for his ex wife.

"It breaks my heart that I couldn't make Jessica happy," says Lachey.

"I wanted to be everything to my wife. I wanted her to look at me with love in her eyes, the way she did at the beginning, and have her feel like I was the most wonderful, awe-inspiring man on the planet. And when that stopped, it was the worst feeling in the world."

"I'd marry her all over again," he told the magazine. "Because I still love her. It would be a lot easier to walk away if I didn't."

While Nick spoke openly about the pain of his divorce, Jessica was hesitant to show her true feelings. But, in a small secluded performance almost a year after Nick's interview was released, it became very apparent just how heartbroken Jess was.

In this You Tube video, it seems very clear that Jessica still loves Nick. The Dukes of Hazzard star has admitted on numerous occasions that the song Let Him Fly (originally sang by Patty Griffin) played a huge part in her decision to file for divorce. But in this clip, Jess breaks down in tears - to the point where she can't even complete the song.

At one point in the video, the tearful star just stops singing. She looks downwards and, for a split second, you can see the regret on her face.

"It's so hard for me. I'm sorry," Jess says softly to her fans in the audience, as she nods her head up and down, reassuring herself that everything will be okay.

But will everything be okay?

Will these two ever find their way back to each other?

Only time will tell. If any two celebrities deserve a reunion, it's Jessica and Nick.
