Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnancy, “A Complete and Total Shock”

You know it's tabloid hell when Britney Spears' little sister, Jamie Lynn, is making more headlines than her train wreck sister.

Jamie Lynn just announced that she's expecting her first child with longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

But having a baby wasn't exactly the picture perfect plan that Jamie was expecting going into 2008 - in fact, it wasn't even close.

"It was a shock for both of us," Jamie, 16, told OK! magazine. "So unexpected," she added.

"I was in complete and total shock and so was he," says the young star, referring to her boyfriend, Casey.

And telling her parents wasn't easy either.

"I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision," she told OK!.

"Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me."

Her mom's reaction?

"I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious," says Jamie's mom, Lynne Spears.

"She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

Looks like it's going to be a long road for Jamie and Casey.

At least she has her older sister there to give her advice...

I think this is horrible for young viewers to hear about. Our children watch her and enjoy zoey101 b/c of this horrifying news I really think necessary that they don't view the show anymore. Is she telling our younger generation that its okay to go out and have sex before marriage!! And at 16 they are still babies, they are not mature enough to take on the responsibleliyt of a child and neither is Miss Lynn Spears. This is very very sad. This is not the kind of romodle that I want my kids to growup watching.

jamie lynn is crazy! shes friggin' 16!!! im 16, and im not pregnant. and another thing, what can you expect from a "nickelodean star". i mean seriously, she doesnt do "it" on tv, so she does it for real, and BAM! now shes knocked up. (slow clap right now). well, looks like the sisters share more than DNA...there both ***.

Im 16 too and im not pregnant but I know alot of ppl who are and its so judgmental of ppl to say some of the things they say about her... and as for what can you expect froma nick star...look at Vanessa Hudgens...naked photos??!! She was a Disney star...And shes not like her sister..shes gonna do better.

Its not bad for yong veiwers to see that shes pregnant cause its everywhere these days and theres nothing wrong with it. It the 21st centry grow up people...really shes not pulling a Brittany...I believe shell take much better care of her kid and give it the love it deserves...

I think that Jamie Lynn Spears is going to be a great mother. I know that there are a lot of young teenagers that are raising children and they are very good moms. I'm not saying you should go out and get pregnant at an early age. I don't understand why people look at you and judge everything you do. I'm so glad that Jamie has decide to keep the baby. I hope everything goes good in the pregnacy.

I think she'll be a better momma than Britney, and I think a lot of teenagers can be good parents with a bit of support. And they and their kids can go on to be really succesful. I'd rather a pregnant 16year old than a 56 year old. But both are ok if they really love the kid.

Wow i cant believe this!! i am going to say that she is too young but hey everybody makes mistakes sometime. i think we should let her make her own mistakes and try her best at being a GREAT mother. Unlike her sister BRITTANY!! if i was in her position i would support her in every way!!

Yes it is crazy to hear that Britney's lil sister is pregnent. but she's not the only 16 year old girl in america that has gotten pregnant or has a kid. I think that people should just leave her alone. I understand she made a mistake, but who hasn't? atleast she is mature enough to take responsibility for her actions. She has enough problems...SO LEAVE HER ALONE! if you dont want your kids watching her show, change the channel...if they fire her...there are other jobs, including other shows/movies she can star in if she wants.

Well I personally don't mind her being a roll model for my children. She is smart well centered compared to her sister. She isn't out drinking on drugs out at wild party's( Brit , Paris etc..)She isn't in the spot light for those reasons.I raised my children to know whats right and whats wrong not a television set or some actress or actor. Maybe those that have real problems with this issue are the ones leaving the shows on tv to teach there children's value system. I pity you and shame on you. My grand mother had her first child at 15 ( ok she was also married before the pregnancy) But she is doing very well in her life. She finished school raised her family and took care of a home and held a steady job. Let this girl have her joy with her child and just let it go.
