Heath Ledger Warned by Jack Nicholson about Sleeping Pills
Nicholson, who conveniently played The Joker in the 1989 Batman Movie, says that his experience with Ambien scared him out of ever using the medication again.

I took it once and somebody called me in the middle of the night and I woke up in my car 50 yards from my house. I almost drove off a cliff. I didn't know where I was. Ambien can get you. Not through excessive use, it's just some people react more strongly than others."
And perhaps Jack and Heath had more in common than any of us knew. The two world-renowned actors were known for submerging themselves into the roles they played - to the point where they could cut off communication with the outside world.
Jack reportedly locked himself in a room for an entire day to get into the role of The Joker when he played the part a few decades ago and Heath was known for completely immersing himself in the roles he played as well.
His character in the new movie The Dark Knight is eerie but the fact that he died, at the tender age of 28, before the movie was even released is even eerier.
The movie, set to hit theaters in summer of 2008, will undoubtedly receive a lot of attention.
Heath's goal in life was to become a legendary actor.
Hopefully his family and friends will find some happiness in knowing that his goal was accomplished.
Heath and his work will never be forgotten.
