Grammy Nominations Announced – Who Will Take Home Gold?

It's been a year of ups and downs for rap singer Kanye West, whose mother died last month but news of the eight Grammy nods he received this year might be the ray of light he's been looking for.

West is up for a total of eight awards, including album of the year and rap album of the year.

Kanye West: Photo Credit: PNP/ WENNBut Kanye wasn't the only musician receiving multiple nods during today's announcement. Recently rehabbed Amy Winehouse is heading into the big night with six nominations, including album of the year, record of the year and best new artist.

Other singers topping the list include American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, whose smash hit Think Before he Cheats, is up for song of the year as well as Daughtry who's hoping to take home rock album of the year.

Meanwhile, Beyonce, the Foo Fighters, Rihanna and Justin Timberlake will compete with Amy Winehouse for the coveted record of the year award.
