Drew Barrymore the New Angelina Jolie?

She may not be as popular as Angelina Jolie (or as knocked up, for that matter) but Drew Barrymore is doing her part to cure world hunger - one million dollars at a time.

The humble actress revealed her decision to donate $1 million to the World Food Programme during Monday's episode of Oprah.

Drew Barrymore: Photo Credit: KCS/ WENNBarrymore, who hopes to fill the tummies of underprivileged children in Africa, had the following to say about her generous donation:

"I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child's life.

"It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future."

The 33-year-old star has been working with the program since 2005, taken two trips to Kenya since she started and recently became an Ambassador against world hunger.

Drew was named PEOPLE Magazine's Most Beautiful Person of 2007.

We agree with the magazine, Drew is beautiful both inside and out.

The difference is, of course, that Drew is donating her own money, not money from selling her kids' pictures for public consumption. And Drew Barrymore, certainly is more well-known than Angelina Jolie and most, most certainly more respected.

Are you kidding? Drew not as popular?Well, she is not in an over publicized relationship with someone else's husband. I think that Drew's movies are far more popular. I love all of Drew's movies and she is definitely a bigger box office draw. Drew is adorable and genuine. Her personality has always been a big part of her appeal.
