Britney Spears’ Whirlwind of a Week

From the MTV Video Awards to the messy custody battle with her ex-husband, Britney can't seem to catch a break.

Her super-embarrassing, half-assed performance on the MTV Video Awards was only the first in a long series of career-breaking incidents that are destroying the pop tarts reputation - possibly for good.

It was unclear after her MTV performance whether the majority of viewers were left disappointed, shocked or rolling on the floor laughing uncontrollably.

This much is clear, though. This former pop icon's current career is a pale reflection of a time when Brit's hip-shaking dance moves were so intoxicating they actually gave Ricky Martin a run for his money.

But her second-rate performance was only the tip of the iceberg.

Not long after she flopped on stage, Britney met with a judge in an attempt to win full custody of her two boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Unfortunately, the hurricane that tore through Britsville last week wasn't finished doing damage.

The judge told Britney what millions of people around the world already knew - that she was a drug addict. A "frequent and habitual drug user," to be exact. After breaking the news, the judge then ordered her to undergo random drug testing twice a week and to lay off the booze at least 12 hours before seeing the children.

Seems easy, right? Wrong.

The same day she met with the judge, Brit was seen out on the town with some of her friends. She appeared to be in an intoxicated state.

First her husband, then her parents, then her career. Will her children be next?

Has Brit's behavior become so toxic she actually deserves to lose her children?
