Britney Spears in Turmoil - Photos from the Past!

It's only February and Britney Spears has already had a whirlwind year, but many industry professionals (and fans) are hopeful for a Spears comeback.

Britney, who became the pop icon of the world at the tender age of 17, used to be a gorgeous, talented singer/performer with the whole world at her fingertips.

But is it possible for America's favorite pop tart to return to the music scene with a vengeance?

We think so.

Britney had no idea at this time, just how much success she was in for. Her debut album, Baby One More Time, was released just months after the photo shoot and quickly skyrocketed to No. 1.

A very happy Spears had her photo taken in this shoot from 2000. In 200, Britney's career reached all new heights when she combined her success from her debut album (Baby One More Time) with her second release, Oops I Did It Again - which also ended up earning Brit-Brit millions of dollars and priceless amounts of publicity.

I'm sure everyone remembers the 2003 MTV Video Awards - you know, the year that Britney and Madonna locked lips in front of millions of viewers? Well this may have shocked millions of fans but Britney was at the top of the music industry when this photo was taken, although her personal life was already taking a toll (she had just broken up with Justin Timberlake).

By 2004, Britney and Justin had been broken up for a while but Britney's career was on fire as her 2003 CD, In the Zone, raked in millions of dollars.

Britney has reached higher levels of success by the age of 26 than most people will dream of in a lifetime.

Is she going through hard times right now? Yes. Does that mean she can't make a comeback? No.
