Britney Spears Released from Hospital Too Soon?

But one of the world's most respected therapists, Dr. Phil (who was with Britney at the time of her release), doesn't seem to agree with the doctor's decision to let her go.

He told ET the following:

"My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention.

"She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car."

Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, who has had a rocky relationship with the pop princess, was the only family member to show their support at the hospital. Mom, Lynne, and sister, Jamie remained in Louisiana throughout the ordeal.

Jamie has made it very clear that he respects Dr. Phil's opinion very much and was disappointed to hear that Dr. Phil deemed Britney's release as "one of the worst decisions that could have been made."
