Britney Spears Comeback on Hold - For Now

Britney has been trying desperately to make a return to the top of the charts. Her latest album, Blackout, was her lowest selling album ever and her videos don't seem to have any weight in the industry anymore.

So where did it all go wrong?

It all started after Britney shaved her head and entered rehab in 2007. From her highly publicized photo shoot with OK! magazine to her disastrous performance at the MTV Video Awards, last year was a pretty much a complete write-off for the former pop icon.

But everyone has their bad moments - their year where they just can't seem to make anything come together. Look at Paula Abdul, she's making her comeback after loads of negative publicity over the past few years. And if New Kids on the Block and The Spice Girls can come back after years of being away from the spotlight, so can Brit.

The thing is, Britney needs to disappear for a while. The only way to make a comeback is to disappear and then come back with a vengeance.

Right now, Brit needs to focus on her family and her treatment. Take a trip back to Louisiana and come back to LA when she's ready to take her music seriously again.

So, yes, her big comeback may be put on hold - but only for a while.
