The Bachelor Finale Shocker – Brad Sends Both Women Home!

Brad Womack/ DeAnna PappasBrad Womack/ DeAnna Pappas

Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. There's simply no other way to explain last night's season finale of The Bachelor.

For 11 seasons, Chris has been advertising each final episode as the most shocking rose ceremony ever and last night ABC actually delivered - and not in a good way.

Fans of the show have been watching for more than nine weeks to see which lucky lady would steal Brad's heart in the end. What we didn't know is that he would end up rejecting every single bachelorette.

That's right, the man who ABC has been calling "The sexiest bachelor ever" (uptight and selfish, maybe, but definitely not sexy, if you ask me) sent both women home in tears last night.

The real kicker is that Brad acted as though he was in love and ready to settle down - with DeAnna. He took her hands at the final rose ceremony (with the engagement ring sitting nearby) and began speaking to her as though he was going to choose her and they were going to live happily ever after.

Then, out of nowhere, Brad started panicking and, before we knew it, DeAnna was sitting in the limo, shocked, upset and alone.

The whole season and he ended up choosing no one. There's nine weeks of my life I'll never get back.

What did you think of last night's finale?

Let's face it, everyone is watching to see if this "fairytale ending" is actually going to occur. The producers of the show represented throughout the program (via creative editing) that Brad was a genuine person and there really was going to be a satisfying ending to this program. WOW.....they really blew it by not having a more reasonable resolution. Since he "just couldn't commit" (such sincerity from this wonderful bar owner, womanizer, self-absorbed bachelor) why didn't Brad suggest that he needed more time with one of them? Who cares if he meant it, it's TV!!!! Lesson #1. in sales -- Your resonsibility is to me, the viewer (aka customer). At a minimum this would have created a significant amount of residual buzz for the program and the viewers wouldn't feel so cheated after watching for 9 (count 'em 9!!)weeks. I have never actually watched the program before but I did commit to this one in an effort to share some tv time with my spouse. What a waste of time this was and yes, I do feel like I was duped. You could have had another fan added to your base but instead, due to the incredible lack of creativity buy the producers of the program.......you lost me. Back to ESPN where the reality is alot more real.

I agree - what a waste of time. why couldn't they show the aftermath or something...everyone would have watched that. I guess they have this after the rose thing - does anyone know when that is on, I missed that part? But that didn't look like it provided a lot of closure to anyone.

This guy is a total narcissist.. Any guy approaching thirty that spends that much time trying to stay buff and waxing their body is a little creepy. He didn't have a spontaneous bone in his body.. I never heard a sincere laugh out of the guy the whole time..Did'nt any of these girls see any of the red flags I mean the guy is in his prime, he has a body of a greek god he's good-looking and owns several bars and he still couldn't find a girl friend before the show.. He probably has mirrors all over his house and above his bed... He even dyes his hair.. did you see him next to his brother.. He needs to eat a pizza and knock back a few cold ones

wes jupiter is obviously overwhelmed with jealousy and envy and only wishes he were even half as manly as Brad. W.J.'s desperation and loneliness are all too obvious.

I'm all for reality shows, but the premise has always been some kind of happy ending - win the cash, win the car, win the girl's heart ... it leaves us making us feel good - even if it's for 5 minutes! Last night's finale was one of the most disappointing and ridiculous in a long time. It's set a new level of low for the network. If this is the mode of the future ... I think next season's finale should end with the Bachelor picking both of the women and then we watch as he confesses he's really married and was only looking for 2 hoochies on the side. The camera then fades to black as we see both ladies ripping him to stem to stern! I'm in for that!!! That's about the only way I'll tune in for 9 weeks again!

Just what I expected. It all started with Bettina. Once he had sex with Bettina, because her folks thought he was uneducated, I knew he was up to no good. I also knew that he would bed her to make her family look bad at calling him uneducated. He is very manipulative. Her family had him pegged right all alone. On the women tell all, he proclaimed he had actually found the love of his life. What a liar! Then he does this to Jenni and Deanna. If he was looking for publicity, he got it. He really came off looking a little dumb and uneducated. I think all of the women were too smart for him.

You for one, are right on the money when you clued into Brad choosing Bettina just after he met her family and had a bad, rejectful experience when he met them - this was a real "big" clue about what this guy is really made of - we noticed that move right off the bat - but, at that point, it did get interesting to see just what this guy was going to do next. He truly came off as plastic and rehearsed when he tried to make an effort in showing any real emotions - I never saw anything really genuine in his mannerisms. All the girls there should count themselves fortunate that they were rejected and not further duped into a waste of their time and emotions on Brad's genuine insincerity. In the end, he ruined everything for himself and any real possibility of getting into a committed relationship anytime soon. He came off as a blatant liar who is selfishly confused about his unrealistic perception of a perfect love with a perfect marriage partner which just doesn't exist! Lucky girls, they were spared of also having his mother for a mother-in-law!! He did them all a favor in the end, but his stupidity did not help the show's future segments - bring back a bachelorette, please!!

I can't believe I wasted nine weeks watching and hoping this man was a genuine human being who really wanted to be there for all the right reasons. Billed as the sexiest bachelor ever was the first incorrect information. Not sexy, not a rocket scientist, not even as sensitive and caring as he tried to make everyone believe. I feel he really mislead ladies, encouraging them to talk to him and to share their feelings. What a lizard, once bedded he continued to play the sensitive game. Why did he buy a ring, why did he ask one father for permission to marry his daughter and why couldn't he be man enough to explain how he had exploited these women.

I agree he just wanted Bettina to get back at the parents and then he sent her on her way. Why was it so important for him to know how they(the Girls) felt about him? I tell you why ego. He is a player from the beginning. What did all the girls in Austin find him out? What a total creep.

I was a faithful viewer of the show. But, this is my last bachelor. I hope others send this message to ABC. They made a fool out of all of their viewers.

You hit the nail right on the head!I've seen all the bachelor and bachelorette shows from day one and have never been this disappointed by the ending of any reality show. The Age of Love thing came close however.I am an old fashioned type man, and can honestly say that the look in Jenni's eyes tore my heart out! These women deserve much better and so do the viewers!
Anonymous (not verified)
i look at it this way... at least he didn't just pick one for tv and break up with her after it was all over. at least he was honest and didn't lie... he wasn't in love with either of them. you cannot expect to find your "one" on a reality tv show where 25 women were picked for 1 person, and expect that "one" to be amongst that 25. i guess we'll see what he has to say tonite on "after the final rose" and be able to better determine if he really is just an ass or if he was genuine in his honesty.
Anonymous (not verified)
and who's to say that he really has slept with all of them? they could have just done that "slept" in the same bed and kissed - but just b/c they do the overnight thing, doesn't mean that these girls had sex with him. and if they did, they are all stupid b/c they all are very well aware of knowing that he is most likely going to be spending the night with the other 2. i don't really know what to think. i guess we'll see and have more to discuss after tonite's show.

If Brad couldn't find a suitable companion amongst those 25 beautiful women, even for dating (doesn't have to get married), then I think he is a self-centred narcissist who is totally in love with himself and thinks he is too good for everyone. With his attitude, he will end up old and alone, and he'll only have himself to blame.

What a loser, Bettina's parents were spot on with their immediate sumation of this blunt tool. There really is something to be said about being educated. No matter how much money you have, it can't buy you class, never.

Anonymous (not verified)
I thought I had the wrong tv channel on for a minute but it appears that the REAL biggest loser was on last night on ABC.
Anonymous (not verified)
Good answer............hard to believe it ended the way it did. Like your wit and sarcasm!
Anonymous (not verified)
He "is" the loser here, and must get his thrills hurting nice women. They should rename this show Players or Get Your Heart Broke.

good one

Are there any other "real" men out there besides me that felt their heart sink to the floor when Jenni looked up at Brad with all the hurt in the world in her eyes? I hope he feels good now, sending two true beauties home crying and probably wishing they had never signed on for the show!

I just want to say that people need to have better sense than to go on a TV show to find true love. That is absurb to me. GOD places people in your life for a reason! Heads up girls, competition b/t you and 30 other women is not a way to find who you are looking for. And by the way, you only get to spend a few weeks with them. I do not think you are giving yourself the right amount of time to get to know the other person. I am sorry that these women got their feelings hurt, but love is not a competition!!! GOD loves us all and he does not make us compete against others in the world for his love because he is just...so this should be a lesson to all the women out there. Love comes with time and you don't have to run after it!!!! By the way, I loved the show and I really was rooting for him to pick someone, but deep down I kinda felt like someone would get disappointed whether it be the viewers or the women.

They (ABC) promote this show as a sort of Cinderella Story and that's what we all tune in to see.. NOT to see some dumb egotistical idiot go around lying to sweet girls telling them that he's so happy, and never felt like this before, and "you are everything I have ever wanted". BOGUS!! and then on top if it all.. portrays himself out to be the hurt victim with his fake welling eyes at the end. What a farse!
Anonymous (not verified)
What a MORON. I don't even know what else to say. IF he had any feelings for any of the two and even if he DIDNT PROPOSE... why did he not even continue the relationship after the show?????? This guy is an idiot. He let two great girls go. What a douchebag.
Anonymous (not verified)
To ABC, If you guys are smart, I suggest you take this series off of your internet site ASAP, the more people who watch this season's shows the more flack you will be getting.

I feel ripped off. I read interviews that Brad gave after the show ended but before the finale was shown and he kept saying how happy he was. Is this guy for real ? They're making a mockery out of this show and I feel very dissapointed.

One conceited SOB!

Let's look at the facts for a moment. The entire Cabo San Lucas & Fantasy Suite episode was for me a deal killer in the "honest & sincere" relationship category. Especially since Brad constantly maintains his "respect" for the ladies. This was clearly staged for TV and generally insulting to the women & to Brad, however; how can anyone really believe anything Brad says when he is kissing & touching 3 different women in 3 separate relationships that are all occuring simulataneously? Freud would have a great time figuring out what label to stick on this crazyness so is it any real suprise Brad selects nobody? The clue that this could happen was his statement that "he was giving it every chance right up til the end." Fast Forward to the Final Episode--Last Rose Cermony. Q- Do I love this women enough to marry her? A-Nope. Q-Will that ever change? A-Nope. Ditto. End of story. Everything else leads up to this. Morality didn't matter, show isn't interested in that. Dishonesty doesn't matter, show isn't interested in that. The show is about drama and so putting people into dysfunctional situations is good tv and we watch it. Well for me, not anymore. Yuk!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! You hit it! I'll tell you why he didn't pick either woman, because he didn't HAVE too!! Brad is without doubt the phoniest bachelor yet! Fact: For 9 weeks this . .uh. .'man' had 25 women fawning over him, catering to him, gushing over him, doing things they would never in a million years do normally, just for him. . just to get his attention. He was the center of their world. .' he's everything I ever dreamed of', 'I can see myself with him for the rest of my life' and he lapped it up! What man wouldn't!? But then. .gasp. . it was over! That's when he thought 'hey. .wait a minute, they may actually expect me to make a CHOICE. . what the hell am I going to do now?! I know. . I'll tell THEM that I care for them but I don't love them enough to make a commitment or even a promise of a commitment. .when in actuality it's a case of, 'look, I've had my fun, I'm going home!!' Lousy SOB. . .Jenni, DeAnna. .be glad he didn't choose either of you!

My friends were once on a tv show, and they truly had no control over what they got to do or say. It ended up being a mockery of their family and truly made them look bad... but since they were being paid they had to do what they were told. We all know that reality television isnt truly reality. It is cut and edited and put together to make for some good tv. It is very possible that Brad was told to send both of them home. And he could have known this from the start. Look at all the publicity that the Bachelor is getting now. "Any publicity is good publicity" and my guess is that many people will be unable to refrain from watching it next time. I feel bad for everyone that was on the show. Tv and "reality shows" are no way to find love even if by coicidence some people did.

What makes me sick is in the begining Brad said he got butterflies when he was around Jenn. Then last night he said he was waiting for butterflies with the women he wanted to marry but he didnt with either. So he lied. Then he flew out Deanna's dad. Why do all that. He said he tried. But why not just still date. He thought it would happen in 9weeks. He's crazy. Cause some people it takes a year. I just don't understand at all. He could have explained himself better. He just looked cold and withdrawn last night. Then leave Deanna with that statement you dont' know how much I will miss you. Well duh, he didn't have to miss her date her. ugh

I agree with those that have said this was the LAST Bachelor I will ever watch! Thank God, After the Final Rose had the guts to bring out Trista & Ryan. It's nice to know there is ONE success story. I have watched "the prince" make a fool of women, "the officer & gentleman" make a fool of women, "the doctor" make a fool of women, and ABC make a fool of me for the LAST time!

There is no explanation other than he has total fear of commitments, or that he is just plain mentally ill!Well, there are now two more stunningly beautiful women who are available.

Hey, let's quit this bachelor/bachelorette crap and have a widow/widower show. People who have had real love and lost it too early. It could still be exciting by capping an age limit...but can you imagine what these people could offer each other????? I think I'm done watching imature men swooning after young women.

It's Hollywood and ABC is trying to add some variety to the Bachelor since it's been on the air for so long and they missed the mark BIG TIME with this finale. It's all about ratings. I'm sure everyone signs contracts which binds them and turns them into the networks puppet for a specified period of time. It was evident to me when they brought all the ladies back for their little chat with Brad. The host was a jerk, poking fun at some of the girls and not in a good way. They have to sit there and take it. Whole new low and quite frankly it's a circus show. What it comes down to in my opinion isn't that it's 100% Brads fault b/c he may not of felt it with the girls but he's obligated by a contract to continue. It's showbiz, it's all about entertainment. Sometimes things work out like Trista & Ryan and that was pretty cool b/c you could see real chemistry when watching the show. Haven't seen that since and not quite sure we ever will. Correction...only in REAL LIFE not TV we will.
