Angelina Jolie’s Convenient Timing for Trip to Iraq

Angelina Jolie may be focused on helping troubled individuals in Iraq but the timing of her latest trip is a little too convenient, if you ask us.

Angelina and Brad continue to deny pregnancy rumors, despite Angie's growing and glowing body.

Whether or not Ms. Jolie is pregnant, her trip to Iraq to raise awareness this week couldn't have come at a better time.

Barraza/ WENNOver the past few weeks, media reports have speculated that Brad and Angie are staging a fake pregnancy in a ploy to take the focus off of Jolie's recent award losses. Others claimed the supposed plan was to raise awareness for Brad's new housing campaign in New Orleans.

Now, speculation is flying that the two staged the pregnancy to raise awareness when Jolie headed off to Iraq this week.

While we're doubtful that a pregnancy was staged from the beginning, there's no doubt in our minds that Brangie are playing up the rumors to gain a little publicity.

For the past month, Angelina's maternity-like clothing choices (at the Critics' Choice Awards, the SAG Awards and the Santa Barbara Film Festival) have only fueled the rumors.

But would she really pretend she's pregnant just so people will listen to what she has to say about Iraq?

We'll leave that one up to you...

If she isn't pregnant, you'd think she'd just say so. She shouldn't continue to fuel the rumors by announcing that she wants to have another baby in 2008 then wearing maternity-like clothes to red carpet events - all the while asking reporters not to address the fact that she might be pregnant. It's almost as though she wants the speculation to continue - otherwise she would have just denied it by now (like Posh did yesterday).

If Angie does announce she's pregnant in the next few months, we can respect her right to take the time before making the news official. But if eight or nine months pass and she's still not addressing any pregnancy issues then we'll have to assume it was a ploy to get attention.

I guess only time will tell.

You know I believe that is part of the problem. First of all as a UN trip things are not done on a whm. Secondly, why do all of us continue to focus on the gossipy things rather than the big picture. I like gossip (in small bites) but I don't let it take my attention away from what is going on in the world, around the world, in this country, around the country. Also over the past two years it seems that what happens in a woman's womb is everyone's business and really it shouldn't be.

She has a right not to talk about it but it's obvious she's using the rumors for more attention. And JLo did confirm her pregnancy (when she was on tour with marc) and Christina confirmed hers too. I agree, if she doesn't say anything in a few months, she was only using the rumors to boost her career and her personal goals. Its sad really.

Nobody stages a pregnancy. You say that she might stage it to take the focus away from award losses? I find that strange especially because awards have no importance to jolie and she has not kept a single award she has won so i doubt she would do anything like staging a pregnancy like you say. Her trip to iraq is planned weeks even months ahead. If you do research then you would know you need clearance and mulitible checks and information before you go on trips such as these. Why is everyone being critical about her not announcing this pregnancy. I think it's clear she is pregnant as she has always denied rumors of being pregnant when asked and she would not keep this rumor going if she weren't no matter what you want to believe. If she confirms or not, it is her choice and everyone should just leave it alone. The media and press obsession with this is quite disturbing.

You say it takes weeks and months to plan a trip to Iraq and Angelina conveniently said in October or November that her and Brad plan on having a baby in 2008 - thats a little convenient doncha think? Also, you complain about the media and press's obsession with this and call it disturbing but you're clearly still reading about it and clearly still fueling their desire to follow the story. What's disturbing is the fact that you're a hypocrite and you won't admit it.
