Akon Charged After Throwing 15 Year Old Boy Off Stage!
R&B singer, Akon, who's hit Don't Matter soared to the top of the charts last year, sent a 15 year old boy soaring off a stage at a concert on June 4, 2007 - and is facing some severe consequences now.
Akon: Photo Credit: Nikki Nelson/ WENNThe incident occurred when someone in the audience allegedly threw a piece of debris at the 26-year-old singer while he was performing on stage. After a security guard pointed out the 15-year-old boy accused, he made his way to the stage to approach Akon.
When the boy made it to the stage, the singer raised the kid above his shoulders and tossed him off the stage. Luckily, his fall was broken when he landed atop another member of the audience, who later told newspapers she was diagnosed with a concussion.
The 15-year-old boy was apparently unharmed.
What were the charges?
According to TMZ, cops have reportedly charged Akon with endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment.
The vocalist is set to appear in a local court on Monday for arraignment.
